SUMMARY
Performs design and specifications using computer-aided equipment and software. Prepares plans, fabric / finish palettes, furniture specifications and installation drawings. Edits, revises, and updates changes to existing drawings and specifications. Works closely with sales team to perform and execute a successful project. Project management duties include tracking project orders and installation scheduling. 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Other duties may be assigned.
  • Assumes responsibility for overall completion of design and related tasks for assigned projects.
  • Works with sales staff to establish design requirements of proposal preparation.
  • Prepares design proposals as needed.
  • Provides consistently complete, accurate specifications.
  • Generates accurate scope of job based on customer expectations.
  • Develops furniture block plan, space plan, fabric / finish palette, final furniture specifications and installation drawings. 
  • Develops cooperative working relationship with manufacturer reps and related and maintains those relationships.
  • Checks other designers specifications as needed.
  • Performs field measures; product inventory; programming; specification verifications, ancillary product research, etc.; and frequently participates in project meetings as required with sales team and/or clients.
  • Works with sales team or client to review any required design modifications and produces revised drawings and/or specifications based on those modifications.
  • Creates graphic representation (hard copy) of design using assigned design software. 
  • Is available for installation observation/assistance, and may meet with Project Management staff or outside contractors to review installation drawings and construction details.
  • May work with sales team and installation team to conduct final walk-through and prepare punch list.
  • Attends weekly team meetings (report on status of projects and workload).
  • Assists sales team with product tracking and installation scheduling.
  • Performs other duties or special projects as assigned.

QUALIFICIATIONS
  • Bachelors or Associates in interior design or architectural drafting or equivalent experience.
  • Solid knowledge of AutoCAD, 3D rendering programs and knack for learning new programs.
  • Experience in furniture design layout preferred.
  • Can work gracefully under pressure in a fast-paced, sometimes high-pressure environment.
  • Self motivated to solve problems
  • Strong ability to prioritize projects, focus and effectively manage your workload to meet deadlines. 
  • Super communication skills with strength in working well with many different client types.
  • Uncanny attention to detail. 

BONUS!
  • You are skilled at AutoCAD, 2020 Worksheet Software, CET Designer and Visual Impression software. 
  • You've worked in the commercial furniture industry in some capacity and you can't imagine working anywhere else!
  • You are not afraid to ask questions and you love to jump into any situation. 
  • You are creative and energetic. 
  • Happy to work in teams but also thrives in a solo environment.
