"The days of the top-down hierarchical organization are slowly coming to an end, but changing the organization chart is only a small part of the transition to a network of teams. The larger, more important, and more urgent part is to change how an organization actually works. Now, more than ever, is the time to challenge traditional organizational structures, empower teams, hold people accountable, and focus on building a culture of shared information, vision, and shared direction". As businesses reinvent themselves, there is a fast-moving approach to "team concept" model. While not all businesses are in need of a team model, the approach is both interesting and has already been influential. Much of the transformation within the office focuses on the decentralization of authority, and drives the push to move towards a network of teams.
The idea is that each team will still have a leader that is most influential in driving the team towards their specific goal. This concept is meant to allow for a variety of minds to touch one project and hopefully improve on the method of output for the company, while still remaining functional and delivering to the leader what needs to be accomplished. The rise of teams within the office is a world-wide concept that has both benefits and drawbacks. This new format for a working space is developing at this very moment. What are your thoughts on the rise of teams within the workplace?
